Potential Doctor Who spinoffs
Feb. 29th, 2016 12:40 amI just read an article about potential Doctor Who spinoffs, suggested by fans. Some of their suggestions I agreed with, some I didn't. Some I hadn't even heard of. That started me thinking about what characters I'd like to see in a spinoff. In fact, a while back, I read that there was going to be a spinoff series. What happened to that? Does anyone know?
Someone suggested Sarah Jane's adopted son Luke and his friends. That sounds like an excellent idea. I'd love to see that. With K9, of course
Someone else suggested Captain Jack Harkness and I'd love to see him again too.
Another suggetion was Jenny the Doctor's daughter. That sounds like a great idea. With a few male companions.
Then there was a suggestion to go back in time to when the Doctor first started out and one about the War Doctor. I'd love to watch both of them.
In fact, this may sound like sacrilege for Classic Who fans, but I'd like to see the series return to the start (not when the Doctor stole the TARDIS, but that too, of course, but also the First Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara.) With today's special effects. That is, if it's even possible to recreate the effect of the First Doctor's wonderful scariness.
Then of course, I really like Donna, Clara, Clara's boyfriend and Rory (but I realize that I can't have Rory without Amy). I have a number of other favorites that showed up in different earlier episodes but I don't even remember their names, so I'll have to save them for another time. If I do write another post, I'll try to find photos of these people, in case no one else remembers them from my vague descriptions.
